Looking back on this album with the perspective of twenty-two years, I see things I can take some pride in and things I would have done much differently. Life is like that, so why should music be any different.

This is a strong collection of mainly self-composed songs, but it was recorded when I was just discovering the possibilities of sequencing whatever synthesised sounds I wanted to choose. Everyone’s first experiments with anything new does not necessarily produce finely honed, subtle results and this album was certainly at the start of that learning curve for me. However, it helped me develop as an arranger and, eventually, producer and, it must be said, it’s an album that, back in the day, did very well for me.

I hope you might enjoy this addition to ‘The Retro Collection’.
