about

This collection comes from a variety of sources and times in my musical development. Every album, even now, is a learning experience and, as with every learning experience, there are the 'Eureka moments' when things go right and the 'wish I'd done better' moments. There are a few of both kinds here.

It starts with 2 'live' songs, recorded in Kirkcaldy in 1989 for my 'In Concert' cassette, then a couple from my 'By Request' album in 1992. A very productive solo acoustic session at Redbarn Studios in 1998 yielded four songs, then there's a 'live' song from a concert in Richboro, PA.

In 1994, inspired by a developing relationship with Ritz Records (after appearing on the TV series, Scotch & Irish), I recorded the 'Troubadour' album. It featured the kind of sound and repertoire Ritz specialised in and I hoped they would be impressed - they weren't! Listening now, I can understand. However, the five tracks here are part of my story and, as I have been supported in my career by many people for 40 years, they might be part of your story, too.
